The Annual Rochester Border Battle youth hockey tournament, produced by SuperSeries AAA Elite Hockey Tournaments, is set to take place this weekend at Bill Gray’s Regional Iceplex and will bring in over 1,000 ice hockey players and family members into Monroe County. In total, 18 teams representing CA, CT, FL, OH, NJ, NY and SC will compete in the three day event.
Based on the Destinations International Economic Impact Calculator, it is estimated that the Rochester Border Battle will generate $393,3337 in direct visitor spending and $266,612 in indirect spending, for a total economic impact of $659,950. One local youth hockey team is playing for a cause this weekend, running a ‘Hockey Fights Cancer’ fundraiser for the American Cancer Society. Rochester based team, ROCO Bantam Minor AAA will have a raffle, and sell “I Fight For” signs for guests to place on the wall of hope at the Iceplex.
