NATION’S LARGEST GIRLS HOCKEY TOURNAMENT DRAWS THOUSANDS OF VISITORS TO ROCHESTER THIS WEEKEND

More than 5,000 attendees and athletes will visit Rochester this weekend at local hockey facilities across the county, including—Tim Hortons Iceplex. Rochester will play host to Premier Ice Prospects Roc City Girls Fest (October 27-29 and November 3-5), featuring 15 divisions and 174 teams. 

“We are thrilled to continue hosting this event in the Rochester area year after year, especially in the newly renamed Tim Hortons Iceplex” said Brian Oliver, Tournament Director for Roc City Girls Fest. “Rochester’s hockey community has a long history and has become a hotbed for girls hockey in North America, fitting our vision of showcasing girls hockey on the national stage.”

“Participation of girls in ice hockey has grown significantly in recent years, and Rochester has become the hot bed of girls hockey in the United States, and Premier Ice Prospects has played an integral role in each of these cases,” said Chris Woodworth, Executive Director of Tim Hortons Iceplex. “We thank the entire Premier team for their dedication to supporting the female athlete, and for selecting Rochester as the host community for what has become the most storied event in the world of girls ice hockey.”

Based on the Destinations International Economic Impact Calculator, it is estimated that the ROC City Girls Fest will generate a total economic impact of $6,434,422.
