34 HOCKEY TEAMS PARTICIPATING IN THIS WEEKEND’S ROCHESTER WINTER CLASSIC AT TIM HORTONS ICEPLEX

The annual Rochester Winter Classic youth hockey tournament, produced by MyHockey Tournaments, is set to take place this weekend at Tim Hortons Iceplex. 

The event will bring over 1,400 players and family members to Monroe County for the three-day event. In total, 34 teams from the Northeast United States and Canada will compete in the event.

“What truly sets Rochester apart from competing host cities across the United States, is a community that wholeheartedly embraces sports tourism, welcoming all visitors with open arms, providing them an experience that is second to none,” said Chris Woodworth, Executive Director at Tim Hortons Iceplex. “Over the course of the year, the Iceplex hosts six annual MyHockey Tournaments. Families and athletes have become fond of our community, its many amenities, and look forward to making Rochester a tournament destination within their hockey season.”

Based on the Destinations International Economic Impact Calculator, it is estimated that the Rochester Winter Classic will generate $850,000 in economic impact to Monroe County.
