​The Rochester Presidential Power-Play youth hockey tournament kicks off this weekend at the Tim Hortons Iceplex, attracting 49 teams and over 2,000 players and families from across the Northeast US and Canada. The tournament is expected to generate over $1 million in economic impact for Monroe County.

This three-day event, taking place April 12th to 14th, 2024, goes beyond goals and saves, aiming to raise critical funds for the New York Law Enforcement Assistance Program (NYLEAP) while fostering camaraderie and celebrating the dedication of those who keep our communities safe.

The Guardian's Cup is more than just a tournament; it's a tribute to the resilience, courage, and spirit of service that define our first responders. Firefighters, police officers, EMS personnel, dispatchers, and military members are invited to lace up their skates, compete with their peers, and raise funds for an important cause. The Guardian's Cup is set to create a thrilling and fiercely competitive environment, attracting first responder teams from out of town to join the action

The annual Rochester Winter Classic youth hockey tournament, produced by MyHockey Tournaments, is set to take place this weekend at Tim Hortons Iceplex. 

The event will bring over 1,400 players and family members to Monroe County for the three-day event. In total, 34 teams from the Northeast United States and Canada will compete in the event.

The United States Hockey League is bringing the top junior hockey league in the nation to Rochester, N.Y., for the third annual USHL American Cup Powered by Wegmans from November 30-December 3 at Tim Hortons IcePlex and Rochester Ice Center. The USHL is proud to partner with Wegmans, a local grocery chain, to put on this specialty event, which features a pair of regular-season USHL games and a youth hockey tournament.

The USHL is the only Tier I Junior Hockey league in the United States and is composed of the best 16- to 20-year old hockey players from across the globe. When the USHL comes to Rochester, it will bring with it the Youngstown Phantoms and the Muskegon Lumberjacks, two of the League's 16 Member Clubs. The Phantoms, the defending Clark Cup champions, enter the game with three NHL Draft selections including Brandon Svoboda (San Jose Sharks, 2023, Third Round, #71), Andrew Strathmann (Columbus Blue Jackets, 2023, Fourth Round, #98) and Tomas Machu (New York Islanders, 2021, Round 7, #221) while the Lumberjacks have one of the top-rated prospects for the 2024 NHL Draft in forward Sacha Boisvert.

More than 5,000 attendees and athletes will visit Rochester this weekend at local hockey facilities across the county, including—Tim Hortons Iceplex. Rochester will play host to Premier Ice Prospects Roc City Girls Fest (October 27-29 and November 3-5), featuring 15 divisions and 174 teams.
